Horse Country is hot on Facebook!
www.allfacebook.com noted February 2011 that; "the average feedback level on any given story is absolutely horrendous. While we’ve seen feedback levels as high as 0.50 percent our average feedback level is somewhere around 0.10 percent. This number will vary from post to post and from Page to Page though. Before discussing the use of these numbers, it’s important to define what determines “feedback”.
Feedback is the total number of comments and likes on your story divided by the total number of impressions."
On February 13, 2011 we posted the centre spread image from our January 31 edition. In 24 hours we counted 1,095 impressions and 1.37% feedback! This included likes, and actual comments on the quality of the photo and the horse.
Just one reason to consider our "print and network package" in your advertising campaign. |

How does Horse Country fit in my advertising campaign?
If you want a cost-effective, timely way of reaching prairie horse
people, Horse Country is an ideal component in your marketing plan.
Rates are extremely competitive and include design of your advertisement if you do not have a professional on staff. Or we can accept ready-prepared adverts in a variety of
formats.
Why Horse Country?
Whether you aim for a market segment based on breed, discipline,
geographical location or lifestyle, check whether Horse Country
fits your bill.
• It's a multi-discipline, multi-breed publication, published without a break for the past twenty-one years.
• No other equine magazine has the distribution profile of Horse
Country.
•70% per cent of copies go to the heart of Manitoba: 50% are
distributed in a Winnipeg North/South corridor, and 50% in a Brandon
North/South corridor. 20% of magazines are distributed
throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Western Ontario. The remaining
10% reaches every other province in Canada and four US states.
• Horse Country is read by approximately 12,000 people.
• The majority of readers are female, aged 25 to 60, who are often
the family and business decision makers.
• Family income is more often $80,000 and up.
• So many readers are so sure that Horse Country will be a part
of their future lifestyle, they have committed to automatic renewal
of their subscription by credit card.
• Reader ages span seven years old to 85 years old, male and female;
it’s a magazine for the family.
• Readers usually own their own homes, and have two vehicles (either
two cars or a car and a truck).
• Many readers also own or have access to a trailer, and travel
to shows, clinics and other events across the Prairies.
• Parents are heavily involved in the equine activities of their
children, through 4-H, Pony Club, and other clubs and associations.
• Magazines have a long life: many people keep every copy for future
reference to advertisers and articles. The average lifespan of
a magazine copy is five years. Magazines are often shared between
families, and even between neighbours.
• Readers include farmers or people who operate rural businesses
such as breeders, trainers, stable operators, professional riders
and recreational riders, as well as a wide range of other business
owners.

Horse Country works in Adobe CS2 And Photoshop 8.
Text files can be sent in Microsoft Word. Bolding, underlining,
italic and other formatting will be used as guides only. When spacing
for lists (such as results in Year End Results) please use ONE
TAB SPACE ONLY between columns. Do not use the space bar to line
up lists; do not worry if the one tab space does not produce the
effect you want. The print production process will line everything
up properly for you.
We can accept these file formats:
• Microsoft Word files with graphics for placement only (send image
separately)
• Photoshop (files flattened, saved as tiff)
• Adobe PDF (saved for print at 300 dpi, with fonts embedded.)
Not

saved as tiff files, or images from web sites.
We will not take images

to the quality you see on your screen.
Please compress files using Winzip before emailing, or save large
files to disc and send by regular mail.
